This privacy policy explains who we are, how we collect, share and use personal information, and how you can exercise your privacy rights. By approving the policy on this page in connection with a purchase or submitting information, you agree to the processing of your personal data in accordance with what is stated below. You are entitled, whenever you wish, to request that personal data is corrected, blocked or removed. Who we are
Cotton Stories is a brand that creates customized paintings based on personal sonogram images, operated by Cotton Stories AB, a company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Information we collect and why we collect it
When you purchase from us or signing up for our newsletter, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, email address and credit card/payment details. We’ll use this information for purposes to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Improve our store offerings and payment methods
  • Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
  • We do not store any credit card data.

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. We will also store comments or reviews if you choose to leave them.

Who we share your information with
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. Our team members have access to this information to help fulfil orders, process refunds and support you. We share information with third parties who help us provide our orders and store services to you; for example Klarna, Paypal, Google Analytics and mailchimp. They can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Payments
We accept payments through PayPal and Klarna. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal or Klarna, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase details and billing information. This data plus a unique identifier for the purchase is then stored as billing and shipping data.

Configuration Data
You can visit our site anonymously with full functionality. But with your browser set to standard options, anonymized data such as location, IP address, browser agent, operating system and language settings can be collected by Google Analytics.

Direct marketing 
When you sign up to our newsletter, we use MailChimp as a service. When you have agreed to receive emails, Mailchimp will collect data based on your behaviours, as well as device information and log data.

Comments
When you leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
